Default More Guild Options

I'm just brainstorming some new ideas for Guild features in Guild wars...

Guild Points and Guild Ranks

I do believe that three ranks in a Guild is WAY to low... being a member, officer or one leader isn't enough...

So I am putting in this idea to A.Net...

There should be a 'tab' in the guilds menu where you can set Ranks like "New comer" or "Venturer" or "Pathfinder" etc. and then list the abilities they can have (although the leave guild is for everyone!). The options are:

Set announcements, add member, kick member, make guild leader, add guild points (To be explained) and decrease guild points (also to be explained).

Now to reach these ranks, you need Guild points... So, this is how it works..

To reach a certain rank in your guild, you need to have guild points. Everyone (but the leader(s)) will start with 1 Guild Point and the Guild Leader will have a 'star' by his name (so that Guild points cannot be erased).

So character A thinks that character b did a good job in the last mission they just did. Character A opens the guild menu and adds 5 guild points to character b.

This is basically how it will work... But here comes the "punishment system".

Say if character b harassed someone in the guild or was generally being rude? Character A could go into the guild menu and withdraw the points from that character until He/She calms down and apologizes.

I think they're may be flaws in this idea, so please tweak it if you find some...

Guild annoucements

There should be more room to type in annoucements. Simple as that. 500 characters would be awesome!

More Guild Hall features

In payments of gold, you could buy more features for your hall! This inclues...

2 Storage ladies - 1.000G
Rune trader - 1.000G
Dye trader - 3.000G
Rare material trader - 5.000G
Material trader - 5.000G
Merchant - 1.00G
Guild Weapon Crafter (My following idea below) - 10.000G
Guild Armor Cafter (My following idea below) - 10.000G

Note: You buy these from a new AI character in Lion's Arch. Hes the 'Guild Master' and watches over all of the Guilds within the province.

Please suggest tweaks for the prices if you think there to high or low... But the material traders stay at 5.000 and the guild crafters stay at 10.000G

Guild Weapons and Armor

Face it, everyone is striving for weapons and armor... So here is my final idea...

Just for your guild only, if you hire a Guild Crafter, your Guild Leader(s) can choose custom armor to be added to your guild!

This is how it would work...

Weapons

Guild leader buys the Guild Weapon Crafter and goes to the Guild Hall and talks to the Weapon Crafter, a "set-up" screen appears (Note: Until the crafter has been set up, he will not reply to anyone in the hall but the leader). The set up includes...

Name - Choose a name
Gender - choose a gender
Choose what armor s/he should wear (you can dress him up in droknars if you want! =D)
Now is the weapons...
Click on the "Swords" Tab and select a graphic, its weapon dmg and other modifications and name. when your done, you will be charged and then the weapon is available =D

You can then go from here to make more different types of weaponry.

Here is a BASIC outline to the pricing of making the weapons...

Max damage weapons - 5.00g
Health upgrades - 1.00g (weakest upgrade)
Health upgrades - 5.00g (strongest upgrade)
Armor and protection against elements - 5.00g (strongest available only)
Recover from X condition quickly - 3.00g

These weapons would not be able to be sold to any merchant and can be salvaged for materials only, not the upgrades.

Armor

Guild leader buys the Armor crafter and goes to the guild hall and starts to set him/her up.

Name - The name of the AI
Gender - choose a gender
Armor worn - explained above

Now you can start to make armor for your guild!

Click on the "Monks armor" tab. Choose the look and effects. RUNES ARE NOT INCLUDED.

Possible effects of your armor...
Health regeneration (2) - 1.000G
Energy regeneration (2) - 1.000G
60 armor - 3.000G
51 armor - 2.000G
45 armor - 1.000G
Energy bonus (10) - 5.00G
Health bonus (10) - 5.00G
Protection X vs. element X - 65 per armor (max of 10)

Feel free to tweak the prices if it seems right, but the regeneration prices are staying at 1.000G...

There y'all go! 45 minutes of things straight off the top of my head =D

Feedback and extra input welcome =D

i think its a good idea, but i wouldn't like to see the max upgrades being able to be crafted into a weapon. at some point, everyone will have maxed out items. upgrades are fine, maybe placing a limit on the max a crafter can place into a weapon.

I agree there should be more ranks on the guild page. In our guild we actually have 5 ranks, and it would make it easier to distinguish people for different things with a better system.

Again I agree, there are certain member sI would trust enough to give certain abilities, but there are other abilities I wouldn' want them to have access too... since making them an officer is the ONLY way to give them more, it makes it VERY hard to decide who is eligible for an honor like that.

I wouldn't even begin to "tweak" this idea... I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole...

Basically you are talking a "karma" system, which a few games have, and you are taking the rankings out of the hands of the officers/leaders where they belong. MOST guilds are pretty good about getting the best people for the job as far as officers go. The system you propose could be very easily be abused and totally screw an otherwise decent guild over.

Example: Two friends think they deserve to be higher rank, so they give each other karma until they are the highest ranking people in the guild. They decide they don't like certain people and start booting them based on their OWN criteria. This would undermine any existing heirarchy that guild may have.

They recently increased this to 255 characters... give them a bit more time to make sure they can increase it further without screwing something else up.

This idea does have some merit, but designing your own armor could cause an unbalance somewhere which I'm sure ANet would want to avoid. There would have to be some kinds of limits imposed on such armor so it wouldn't end up being some uber set that no one could crack... maybe adding one increase would remove another (kinda like adding a bow string to a bow that already has one... you get one or the other.)

As for the weapon upgrades, in the model you propse the prices are WAY too low... they should be 10-20 times those amounts. ANet is looking for gold sinks and this could be a good way of accomplishing that... you want a nice weapon you're gonna pay through the nose!

As for all the vendors, I don't see the need for all of them in a guild hall. Every major town already has them. The Xunlai Agents (Storage) should cost alot more than that too. And as has been suggested in other threads they really should be an "Armory" of sorts that all the officers in a guild can access and maybe another central storage for all members.

It would be nice to see some more NPCs walking around in the GH and be able to interact with them in some way (maybe they could put people who have different "defend the guild hall/PvE quests" to give a try... something that wouldn't affect the guild rating but use the map for a mission of sorts.)

I like to see more NPC's and storage in the Guild Halls. I don't know about buy them though... We certainly do need more ranks though...officers have almost as much power as a leader.

As the leader of a fair sized Guild, that has a solid Guild Ranking Structure in place;
More Guild Rank options = Yes please
Guild points(Karma system) = No Thanks
Would love to see Guild Announcement increased again (thanks Anet for the first increase, unfortunatly still not enough)
As for Veripare's (OP) suggestions for Guild Hall Features, All I can say is BRAVO ! Although I have concerns about the Crafters being able to create Max Gear; I see Max Gear at Halls:
A) Taking some of the Adventure out of GW.
B)Seeing players just joining any guild to use the crafters then quitting(I'm sure alot of guilds have issues retaining fickle players already)

I'd love to see some extra ranks, absolutely! The karma-thing would enable less serious players to practically kill a guild..
The rest of the post was utterly entertaining! I loved reading all these creative ideas and I really think the great lot is feasable too! The guild-armor would be great, but just for looks, implementing all those extra features for these easy prices would be too easy to obtain I guess.. It'll really help the guild in coöperating tho, helping each other out with buying the guild's personalised armor!

Gotta love the creativity!

I'll add them to the combined guild hall thread and add your link but much has been already suggested.

New.
1. more guild ranks (sure, why not)
2. guild point system (too easy to exploit)

The rest have been suggested time an again. Your take is a little more creative than most. Good job on that.
